spread the messaging about our nonprofit and bring mental health awareness in
the community. Meet Ron McCracken!
What is your name?
Ron McCracken
Tell us about yourself.
I am the proud owner of Zeus, a rescued pitbull/American Bulldog mix, who is also my emotional
support dog. I ran 17 straight Boston Marathons from 2001-2017, including the
2013 race that was bombed. I've run 7,723 days in a row as of August 28,2020. I
have been diagnosed with depression, PTSD, anxiety disorder, and ADD. I get out
and run every day no matter how much I am struggling. My PTSD is from the
Boston Marathon bombings.
Have you participated in the Don’t Quit Half Marathon
& 5K before?
I’ve
never participated.
Why are you running in this year’s Don’t Quit Half
Marathon & 5K?
I am running to promote mental health awareness and to
share my story to help others.
