Don't Quit 13.1 Course

Flat, concrete trail, with lots of shade! Set near White Rock Lake, both the half marathon and 5K will run on a shaded concrete/park trail that starts & finishes at one of the coolest watering holes at White Rock Lake in Dallas. It's an out and back course that will be well marked, easy to run and a great way to get some training miles in or a long run! If it's your first half marathon, you'll get to see lots of smiling faces both out and back on the course too. Water and electrolyte replacement aid stations will be located every 2 miles on the half marathon course and at the turn of the 5K course. Run or walk, you'll enjoy this route!

All finishers in the half marathon and 5K will receive finisher medals at the finish line.

Awards will be given to the following for both the half marathon & 5K: 1st, 2nd & 3rd place overall male & female. Age group awards: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male & female in the following age categories: 15 and under, 16-20, 21-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.

    The event does not offer any refunds or cancellations.

  • Transfers

    Transfers from one division to another division or from one person to another are available during packet pickup or on race day only during the race day registration hours. There will be no transfers or changes available online. All changes must be made in person (and if you are transferring your registration to another person, both of you must be present at the time of the change).

  • Event Parking

    The event encourages ridesharing, and taking Lyft or Uber as there is limited parking available at the event. Free parking is available (but limited to 250 vehicles) and has been arranged for the event at the DART White Rock Station located at 7333 E. Northwest Highway, Dallas 75231. The event will have parking assistance at the DART station so make sure to follow their instructions when parking. Please rideshare with other friends attending the event to decrease the number of vehicles being parked and consider taking DART to the event from other locations! Please DO NOT park at Lakehouse Bar & Grill or at Dallas Bike Works parking lots (as these parking spots are reserved for sponsors and volunteers).

    The course time limit is 3.5 hours. Please only register if you are able to complete all 13.1 miles within 3 ½ hours (equals 16:00 minute per mile pace) or faster. Finishers after this time will be required to run/walk on the sidewalk, and the streets will not be closed and controlled by police. Therefore, you will need to use crosswalks and must wait for traffic. The finish line, however, will remain open until the last finisher completes the race.


    Please read through all of these rules so there are no surprises on race day!

    We love walkers! We do ask for one favor: we ask that they can hold a 15 minute per mile pace. This equates to being able to complete the 5K (3.1 mile) distance in 45 minutes or to complete the half marathon distance (13.1 miles) in 3 hours and thirty minutes; which is a brisk power-walk pace. If you fall below this pace, the event cannot guarantee course support—which is paramount for your safety. Aid stations and medical support will start to become unavailable to participants.

    Unfortunately no strollers of any sort are allowed on the half marathon or 5K courses. This includes but is not limited to regular push strollers, umbrella strollers, jogging stroller and wagons. However, we encourage spectators to bring the little ones to help cheer on the runners!

    All participant entries are non-refundable for any reason.

    Sorry, no dogs are allowed on the course. The event area is dog friendly, as long as dogs are on a leash, well behaved around other dogs and humans and are not aggressive. It is your responsibility to clean up after your pet at all times.

    Bikes and rollerblades are not allowed on the course. Feel free to ride your bike to the event, but please keep bikes off the course.


    Is there a minimum age requirement to run the half marathon? Although there is no official minimum age requirement for the half marathon, we recommend all half marathon participants be at least 13-years-old on race day. All participants under 18 must have the event waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult on the course at all times.


    Both the 5K and half marathon have been accurately measured by a USA Track & Field representative but are not certified.

  • Hydration & Mile Markers

    Are there mile markers and hydration stations along the course? Yes. There will be a hydration station near mile 1.5 on the course (for the 5K and half marathon) this water stop will also serve half marathoners on the return which is mile 11.5. The additional hydration stops for the half will be near miles 3.5/9.5, miles 5.5/7.5, and near the u-turn at the half marathon. Hydration will also be available at the finish line. Mile markers will be visible at every mile on the course for both distances.


    Can I pick up my packet on race day? Yes just be early!

    Can a friend or family member pick up my packet? Yes, all they need to know is the first and last name you used to register and have a copy of your registration confirmation.

  • Awards & Ceremony

    What time is the award ceremony? The award ceremony starts at 9:00am for the 5K and 9:45am for the half marathon. If you are unable to stay for the ceremony, the award will be available for mailing at an additional cost. Please email if you would like your award mailed to you. Awards will be given to the following categories and age groups: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall male and female. 1st place overall masters male and female. And 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the following age groups (male and female): 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+
